INTRODUCTIONS UNIT - CAHOOTS KIDFIT LESSON PLANS
The Introductions Unit is a great kick-off to a new class or school year because it introduces children to class rules and provides activities for practicing the class procedures for starting and stopping activities. Week 2 of the unit focuses on the topic of making friends and what it means to be a good friend, to help the students in the class to get to know each other better.
Cahoots KidFit lessons are designed to introduce movement and health principles to children ages 3-7 (preschool - 1st grade). They are used in schools, preschools, fitness facilities, dance studios, homeschool groups, and community recreation programs. Perfect for group settings (big or small), our lessons foster both social and emotional learning.
This lesson plan is customizable in length and frequency. You decide how long (up to 60 minutes per class) and how many (1 to 5 classes per week).
The INTRODUCTIONS Unit is unit #1 in the Semester Set. However, Cahoots KidFit units are interchangeable and can be done in any order.

Equipment you may need for this unit:
(You only need all this equipment if you are holding class sessions daily. There are many activity options, so you can choose the activities that work with the equipment you have available)
- parachute (or large flat sheet)
- small balls (a few per child)
- yoga mats (1 per child, optional)
- jump ropes (2-4)
- hula hoops (4-6)
- on-theme books (suggested books list included)
- music and speaker (Spotify or YouTube)
