What do I do with my infant or toddler under 2 years old while I work out?
Unlike most gyms, infants are welcome to hang out with you in a carrier seat during the mom workouts. Infants must be in a carrier or in your arms, and not sitting on the floor (for safety reasons). If your child is too big or wiggly to sit in a carrier, we offer Baby Steps classes for children 3 months to 2 years old. Read more about Baby Steps under the "Our Programs" tab.
Are there different membership options?
Yes, we offer monthly membership and punch card options. See the Membership tab for more details.
Can I workout at Cahoots if I don't have children?
Of course! Women of all ages and stages of life are welcome to work out and become part of the supportive community that is Cahoots. There are women who are single, young, old, married, you name it. Come and join us!
Do I need to make reservations?
Reservations should be made for your first class using the "Try a Free Class!" tab on the website. After the first class, members and punch card holders do not need reservations for Mom Fitness and Movement Preschool classes. Reservations ARE required for Baby Steps classes in order to ensure we have the necessary number of staff present. If a baby/toddler does not have a reservation and the class has not reached its quota, the child will be admitted, but we will have to turn away children who don't have a reservation if the class is full. Reservations are made on the website for your first visit, and are made on the Cahoots App for members and punch card holders.
What do I need to bring to class?
Bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes you can work out in. Children should wear tennis shoes, socks, and clothes they can move comfortably in, as well as a water bottle if desired. We have yoga mats and weights you can use, but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
Do you offer any discounts?
We do our best to offer great value for fair prices, so we rarely offer sales. That said, we want Cahoots to be available to any family that wants to participate, so please speak with us about options if a membership or punch card is cost prohibitive for your family. One great option: If you are interested in being an assistant in the Baby Steps classes, you can earn a free or discounted membership (depending on hours worked). Let us know you are interested in working for trade by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or talk to the front desk manager at Cahoots.
What if I purchase a membership and my child doesn't like classes?
Most children take 2-3 times to fully warm-up to a new classroom environment. After that, they love it! You are welcome to accompany your child to class for the first few times, if necessary. If your child continues to struggle with leaving you, and you decide Cahoots isn't right for you, we will refund the remaining portion of the membership. We don't want you paying for something you can't use!
What certifications do your instructors have?
Our adult fitness instructors have broad and impressive collection of certifications or qualifying credentials in the style of fitness classes we offer. Movement Preschool instructors are university students studying Exercise and Wellness who have been trained in the Cahoots Fitness Movement Preschool curriculum and classroom management policies.
